July 4th (a little late)

Yes, it's almost been a full week since the 4th of July but we've been keeping quite busy around here with play dates, birthday parties, and family fun! You wouldn't know it from looking at the blog posts but, there's an old movie quote that goes something like this, "If she was doing anything interesting, she wouldn't have time to write in her journal." And so we've been keeping our lives interesting but just haven't had time to document much.

We celebrated our country's Independence Day in grand American tradition by grilling, spending time with G&G Zafft, and going into Boston to watch the fireworks. Aiden is a huge fan of fireworks so we thought he'd be really excited. But since he skipped a nap and the Boston fireworks don't start until 10:30, the excitement was a little short-lived.

He did actually enjoy it but both kids were tired.

After the fireworks we walked over to Ian's office to wait out the traffic. Then the real fun began!

Ian did a little work while the traffic died down and we made it home around 1:30 AM. We'll probably try again next year but actually camp out down on the Esplinade where the Pops play and have a really good seat for the fireworks show. Ah... the things we do for the enjoyment of our kids...
