The rest of the story...

You know. About our front yard. What? You'd forgotten I promised pictures? Yeah, well, so did I. So here's the rest of the story for my mom who did not forget!

We finally got the front fence installed the beginning of August. It took FOUR MONTHS when the company had said "about 3 weeks." After a while, I felt like Tom Hanks in The Money Pit. But, they did eventually come through with a fence. Mind you, it was the WRONG fence, but a fence was installed. After several phone calls, we finally got the right fence installed but it was nowhere near plumb or level. So, after more phone calls, that was finally fixed. Needless to say, even though we're happy with the final results, the experience has not been great. But considering this is the first negative contractor experience we've had in two years and after about $70K worth of upgrades/repairs, we're not doing too badly.

So, without further ado, here is the finished product!





It's actually straight!


Ian planted some boxwoods in front of each panel except the middle where there are too many roots and there's already a tree.




It took a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of irritated phone calls, and threatening legal action but we have a front and back fence! The better news is that hurricane Irene didn't uproot anything in our yard. So at least they seem solid! Hooray!
