Tonight we had Family Home Evening (or just "Family Night") and decided since Easter is this Sunday that we could get a jump on coloring Easter eggs! In previous years we have felt Aiden was a bit young to understand the whole Easter bunny/Easter egg stuff so we didn't do much. But at almost 4-years-old, Aiden has a better understanding of upcoming holidays and is a little more willing to go along with strange activities even if he doesn't quite understand why we're doing them.
We started with preparing the dye baths for the eggs...
Waiting is not easy!
We then experimented with the little "shrink wraps" that go around eggs...
Devin was tasked with the job of Easter Egg Dying Foreman. He did a great job!
But then the fun really began with the dye baths!
Carrying eggs on a wire holder takes a lot of concentration.
Getting them out of the baths is a challenge...
But Aiden was pretty good at it!
Hooray! [No, he's not trying to squish the egg]
We then decorated with stickers!
Our finished product!
After a few games of Easter Memory, we called our FHE a raging success!

Life question answered: you can dye brown eggs. They look great!
Brave woman. We stopped dying eggs a LONG time ago. That's what plastic is for. Good pictures. Maybe next week we can talk a little more.
