The kids finish lunch between 11:45 and 12:00. So I headed up to Bright Horizons at 11:45 to let the kids enjoy a treat. The kids, however, were a little beat, and most of his classmates were laying down for nap time when I got there. Devin was still awake and so were two other little boys, so the teachers asked if they wanted cupcakes. True to the nature of 2 and 3-year-olds, we suddenly had seven children gathered around the table waiting patiently for cupcakes.
Because of their sensitive smoke detectors, we couldn't light the candle. But Devin practiced blowing out his candle after we sang even without the flame.
Enjoying the frosting.
The previously sleepy friends.
We're hoping to have a family gathering this coming weekend to more appropriately celebrate his birthday, but this was a good start to the celebration!
