Today is two days past Christmas and the chaos has started to settle down a bit at our house (minus the loads and loads of snow outside our door). So here are a few highlights of our Christmas this year.
Decorating the tree we got on the 12th
Pretty with lights!
Our modified decorated tree a few days later... Notice where all the ornaments are missing?
Christmas Eve we headed to G&G Zafft's house for dinner and presents. The kids jumped right into their play with Grandpa.
A little lap time...
Double lap time...
Getting into some gifts while waiting for dinner
Does the little one look excited, or what?
The phantom photographer caught opening gifts
Aiden was getting a little bored waiting on the adults to get his remote control cars operational.
And another impatient child waiting for his gift...
Finally! Free to ride!
Christmas Eve was cut short a bit by an upset stomach (Ian) and a few cranky kids. So we headed home to await Santa's arrival.
Our tree looking a little less barren but still pre-Santa.
After Santa's arrival
Surprisingly, Aiden was not up at dawn. In fact, Devin was up about a full hour before Aiden rolled out of bed around 8:00!
Devin passed the time by wandering around the tree and looking out the window.
And by investigating empty gift bags...
And then, the game was on! Aiden was up and dressed and ready to open gifts!
Aiden's two favorite prizes in his stocking? Chocolate coins...
And chocolate Santas!
The loot!
Devin's favorite stocking stuffer? A plush reindeer that played "Jingle Bells!"
Other top gifts included a racing ramp (meant for Devin but fun for everyone under the age of 5), glow sticks, Spiderman PJs, an erector set, and a tractor with a big detachable scoop!
Ian had to go into to work for a bit so we joined him and tried out the new RC cars in the hallway there. Can you see the amazing sheen on the floors? It made for some cool turns!
Ian and I ended the evening by going to see Tron Legacy in 3D while G&G Zafft babysat. All in all, not a bad holiday considering the stomach bug that hit our house just a day before!
Happy New Year!
