In Memoriam

Eight years ago we had a little grey baby join our flock (a.k.a. family). She loved us without question and we adored her just as much. We named her "Smoke" in honor of her beautiful color and enjoyed her in our home for seven years.

Last year she became very ill and passed away due to congestive heart failure (yes, it effects birds, too). On October 3rd, 2006 we said goodbye to our first born (or hatched) "baby." We probably have hundreds of pictures of Smoke but these are just a few.

As a very little bird, standing on her "mommy's" shoulder

Eating coffee cake (a favorite treat) off the coffee table

Playing in the fridge- the magical box food comes out of!

Inspecting another "box" that the non-feathered birds spend a lot of time staring at

Welcoming the newest flock member

Staring out the window (a favorite pastime)

Some of Smoke's handiwork

We will miss you until we see you again! Keep flying baby grey!
